Carrollton Rainbow hosts Sold Out Celebration of Pride Drag Show

As we approach the end of June, we reflect on the progress the LGBTQ+ community has made towards achieving equality and consider the work ahead of us to keep advancing forward. The theme of this show was "A Celebration of Pride," as an expression of what Pride means to us as a community, as an organization and as individuals.

One of the performers, Black Lagoona, very poetically expressed what Pride means to them:

For this number it meant the world to get to finally perform and express a feeling I’ve felt my entire life, making this costume was emotional because of what it meant for ME, seeing audience members cry during this number made me know I did something right, my choice of song goes out to those that don’t ever feel like they fit in anywhere they go, you’re a creep, you’re a weirdo, you don’t belong there, “they’re all gonna laugh at you” but and you are LOVED just the way you are. I always get asked “how do you dress like that everyday, how do you -“ I just do, because it’s ME. It’s just ME.

Big Thanks to our super talented drag performers and the Wonderfully Supportive and Just Altogether Fabulous Allies at Local Ties Brewing Company & Happy Pride Month‼️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
